International Perspectives on Homeschooling
In this session, Lisa Jobe moderates a global panel of gifted homeschoolers, both abroad and immigrants to the US, who will share their experiences and broaden community and understanding for our participants.
Lisa Jobe is an educational consultant specializing in providing homeschool support for profoundly gifted learners and their families, as co-founder of Sequoia Gifted and Creative, LLC. Lisa pivoted from her corporate law career to homeschool her profoundly gifted sons and has now devoted 15 years to educating and serving as an advocate in the gifted community. She is passionate about supporting underserved gifted families, and volunteers in many capacities, including in the Member Advisory Group of NAGC (National Association of Gifted Children) and as co-facilitator of the parent homeschool support group in the Davidson Young Scholar community. Lisa is also a doctoral student at Bridges Graduate School for Cognitive Diversity in Education.

Kyla Hunte is a Bridges Academy homeschool teacher, based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, who is committed to empowering gifted and twice-exceptional students to flourish both academically and personally. Kyla creates inclusive and supportive learning environments that harness individual strengths. Skilled in curriculum design, personalized instruction and fostering a growth mindset, she is passionate about unlocking the full potential of every child and witnessing their growth.
Ha Knight is the Co-Founder of Knowledge Hub, Director of Business Solutions with NADIA Global, and homeschools her PG child in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Lin Lim, Ph. D. is the Dean of the Certificate Program and director of the Doctoral Internship Program at Bridges Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education, immediate past president of SENG, and former board member with GHF. Hailing from Singapore, Lin homeschools in the US. She is the co-author of the Amazon #1 parenting category new release title, Using Picture Books to Help Little Ones Learn About Themselves by Gayle Bentley, M.M.Ed. and Lin Lim, Ph.D . Lin is also the founder of Quark Collaboration. She recently completed her MBA, and serves as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion representative at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and is now the founder of Stealth Startup.
Yekaterina O’Neil, who was raised in the former Soviet Union, where the topic of neurodivergence was never discussed, is a culturally inclusive neurodiversity advocate who aims to spread awareness and acceptance of neurodivergent and twice-exceptional (2e) individuals at home, at school, and in the workplace through her writing, speaking appearances, research, consulting, and coaching. She homeschools two 2e kids, and is a doctoral student in cognitive diversity, as well as a cybersecurity professional. Previously, she has worked as a Distinguished Technologist, Principal Security Researcher, and the founding member of Software Security Research at Fortify, and holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, with focus on security.
